Patriots is an exploration of national, social and individual identity through observation of the dynamics and iconography of football supporters. Images of individuals and massed crowds illustrate the assumption and performance of shared identities, which reflect and respond to the fluidity of modern-day influences of (multi) cultural, national and international society. The work is powerful and evocative with a lot of attention given to crowd psychology and subconcious influence. The exhibited work is in the form of large scale photographs, short film work and video installations. These images ask questions about how individuals’ and society’s own identities are shared with notions of patriotism and national identity.

The first exhibitions and publications of Patriots is from work made at Euro 96, French World Cup, English and Scottish Premiership, and Euro 2000.
